Students of Al-Ghassaniya Private School Explore the Magic of Homs First Theater
As part of the Turathuna Foundation’s ongoing exhibition, "From the Rubble to the Stage," the Foundation, in collaboration with the administration of Al-Ghassaniya Private Orthodox School, organized a special cultural visit for seventh and eighth-grade students. The visit offered a rich educational experience, blending historical knowledge with the captivating art of storytelling.
The Storybox and the Journey of Revival
The students were introduced to the "Storybox" (Sunduq al-Hakaya) activity, a traditional medium brought to life within the theater’s walls. They also explored the exhibition’s visual displays, which document the inspiring journey of transforming destruction and rubble into a vibrant space for creativity and art on the stage.
Tradition Brought to Life: The Tales of Al-Hakawati
A highlight of the visit was the participation of Ms. Eileen Dib, who took on the role of the traditional storyteller (Al-Hakawati). With a spirited and engaging style, she shared stories of traditional crafts, captivating the students' imaginations and fostering a deep, interactive connection with their local heritage.
Cultivating Belonging and Identity
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to grounding the younger generation in their cultural roots and fostering a sense of national pride.
The Turathuna Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to:
- The Administration of Al-Ghassaniya Private Schools: For their trust, cooperation, and dedication to instilling the values of belonging and identity in their students.
- The Educational Staff: For facilitating this journey of discovery for the students.
Closing Message
By connecting our youth with the stories of our past and the creativity of our present, we ensure that the legacy of our nation remains a source of pride and inspiration for generations to come.
