About Turathuna Foundation

Welcome to the Turathuna Foundation website, where our goal is to preserve and promote Syrian cultural heritage. Born from the destruction and the pain of the stones of Homs, our foundation emerged from an urgent need to rescue and safeguard our cultural heritage.

Legal Identity and Registration

Turathuna is a private, non-profit organization possessing an independent legal personality. The foundation operates under the Law of Associations and Foundations No. 93 of 1958. We are officially licensed by the Syrian Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor under declaration number 4305, issued on December 19, 2019.

Location and Scope

Our headquarters are proudly located within the historic Orthodox Theater in the Bustan al-Diwan neighborhood of Homs. While our physical roots are deeply embedded in Homs, the foundation's activities and initiatives extend across all Syrian territories.

Our Philosophy

We seek to protect heritage and promote cultural and religious diversity, viewing it as a profound wealth for our society. At Turathuna, we believe deeply in the importance of respecting the culture and heritage of others. We consider the protection of heritage to be a fundamental right for everyone, rather than a responsibility limited only to specialists. To achieve this, we work closely and coordinate with all segments of the local community to spread awareness about the vital importance of cultural diversity.
